Compassion without insight is dead. The solution must match the problem in order to transform lives. Relational and identity issues often grow out of specific lies, vows, wounds, unforgiveness, and defenses. Understanding what’s at the root 1) empowers us to provide right solutions and 2) increases our ability to feel compassion for those who seem different than us, whether they be homosexuals, Christians, or others. Without understanding, we may side-step those in need, like the religious men who left the man half-dead on the side of the road in the story of the Good Samaritan.
